Northern Arapaho singer and songwriter Christian Wallowingbull spoke to ACHS students today about the power of positivity and the importance of Native American contributions to our society. He also wanted Students to know how important they are as individuals and that every one of them holds a gift inside of them for the world. Students were invited to attend this event as part of a speaker series hosted by Mrs. Pasquinelli that spotlights Native American voices of distinction from the Wind River community. Chris also performed some of his songs including "Wallowingbull" and "Rachel." Ho hou, Chris!

Our assembly featured distinguished guests, including Governor Gordon, fitness expert Jake Stienfield of "Body by Jake," and our talented student dancers. This was a unique opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate our commitment to health and fitness. Today we cut the ribbon at Arapahoe School! Governor Gordon & our Arapahoe School community joined us in celebrating the school winning a new $100K DON'T QUIT! Fitness Center. We would like to extend a huge "HoHou" to our own Adam Brasel for all of your dedication to our students!! Thank you, Adam and to all the admins and staff who put together the wonderful event this morning. It was a lot to celebrate!

Woxu’ Niibei Lucy Willow Woxu’ Niibei Lucy Willow was born October 12, 1922 in a tent by a River in lower Arapahoe. She attended school at St Michaels, St Stephens and Lander High School. She had to drop out because her brother Sherman passed away during WWII. She had to take over family duties at that time. She always wanted a high school diploma and always stressed the importance of education. She received her High School Diploma from Arapaho Charter High School. She played basketball in her younger years. Her uncle Martin Underwood would teach her plays. She worked at Arapahoe schools as a grandma and always stressed the importance of “keeping busy”. She sewed, beaded and made tipis. Everyone loved her bread! She was an Arapaho language speaker and faithful in the Catholic Church. She always stressed the rosary and faith and prayer. Her family would like to thank all the students for loving, honoring and remembering her.

ACHS students in the Bring Change To Mind Club held a recruitment meeting today to introduce interested students to the club's mission: promoting the importance of mental health and erasing the stigma that surrounds mental health issues. They created a positive message board for students to use if they need a little "pick me up" and are encouraging ACHS students to create their own to share.

She works hard on her independent study course, and is utilizing strategies to help her avoid distraction in completing her assignments. Kenya is taking on additional hours at work to help her family and is a good big sister to her siblings. Kenya asks great questions, is a great listener, and is always looking to learn more. She is a pleasure to have in class and brings out the best in her classmates by being a friend and role model.”Another says “She comes to class with a positive attitude and always gives 100%. She wants to learn and always asking questions to better herself. She is a role model and actively encourages everyone to participate.”
