🌟 HEALTH REPORT FROM THE SCHOOL NURSE 🌟
TousFalcon Families,
This is Nurse Cris from Arapahoe School with an important health update. 💙💛
We are seeing many students in the nurse’s office with the same set of symptoms:
Fatigue (extreme tiredness)
Headache
Nausea (upset stomach)
Runny/stuffy nose or congestion
Sore throat that feels like “swallowing glass”
👉 These may look like the common cold, flu, or—what’s currently circulating in our community—a new strain of COVID called “Stratus.”
A few reminders:
1️⃣ Testing Matters – If your student has these symptoms, please have them tested. Wind River Cares Pharmacy and most grocery/pharmacy stores have COVID tests available.
2️⃣ Stay Home to Heal – If your child tests positive, they must stay home 5 days from the start of symptoms. Beyond COVID, students should remain home until they feel well enough to learn. Rest is important!
3️⃣ Fever/Vomiting Rule – Students must stay home if they have a fever over 100.5°F or if they’ve been vomiting (including the night before).
While I do my best to comfort students, my toolbox in the nurse’s office is limited. Keeping sick kids home not only helps them heal faster but also protects their classmates.
💬 Please reach out if you have any questions or need help navigating illness management at home.
Together in solidarity with mucous management,
Nurse Cris

✨ Tuesday’s Spirit Day: Say Something Nice to Someone – Write a kind note to brighten someone’s day! 📝💙💛
Arapahoe School is focusing on Suicide Prevention and Awareness this week. We have special Spirit Days planned and our Unity Walk is scheduled for Friday (more details coming soon!).
Let’s come together to show support, spread kindness, and take time to talk with our students about the importance of empathy, care, and supporting one another.

Youth & Junior High Falcon Girls Volleyball and Youth & Junior High Boys Football kicked off their very first games of the school year. 🎉
We’re so proud of all our student athletes and can’t wait to see what this season brings. 💛🖤 Good luck to all our Falcons—let’s make it a great year!

Due to air quality concerns, today’s Cross Country Meet has been cancelled.
The meet has been rescheduled for Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. Safety comes first.

Our Kindergarten students are learning what it means to be a scientist! 👩🔬👨🔬
This week we read Dinosaur Lady and discovered how scientists study dinosaur bones and fossils. Ms. Hope even brought in real fossils for us to explore!
The best part? Students got to break open rocks and find their very own fossils inside! 🪨✨
What an exciting way to learn—great job, Kindergarten scientists! 💛
