Our team gave it their all! We fell just short in the semifinals, losing by 1 point, which sent us to the 3rd/4th place game. That one was another close battle—we ended up in 4th place after a tough 3-point loss. These kids played hard and held their own against some big competition. Proud of their effort and heart!

🎉💙 Yesterday, Arapahoe students gave our Special Olympics athletes a proper Falcon send-off! 🎉💙 Students and staff lined the halls of AES to cheer on and honor these incredible Olympians as they took their walk through the school before heading off on their long journey to Gillette to compete. The energy was high, the pride was strong, and the support was loud! Let’s go, Falcons — bring home those memories and medals! 💪🏽🏅

Shotenei Monroe is the Arapaho Charter High School Student of the Week! Shotenei, the granddaughter of Angie Spoonhunter, is a 10th grader at ACHS and a welcome addition to the school this year. She is quick-witted, very polite, and always stands ready to help those around her. “Shotenei is always polite and kind and is a joy to have in class. She has a great sense of humor and enjoys teasing in a friendly way” writes a nominating teacher. “She loves to talk about her dogs and is really an animal lover. Her pure heart shines through every day.” Indeed, students and teachers alike appreciate her quiet presence and selfless approach to life! At ACHS she loves to help with anything and everything. From the Food Distribution program to helping with track meets and decorating for Prom, Shotenei is a willing giver of her time and energy and a true asset to all those around her. Outside of school Shotenei enjoys helping others, drawing, and spending time with her grandmother. She is a talented artist, and hopes to attend an art college after she graduates from high school. Way to go Shotenei – we appreciate you! Angie Spoonhunter (grandmother) is the proud guardian of Shotenei.

🌟 ACHS Track & Field Update! 🌟 We haven’t done the best job giving shoutouts to our high school track team this season—but that changes today! This is only the second year of having a full track team at ACHS, and it’s such an exciting time as our athletes are setting the bar (and breaking it) with new school records! 🏅 📍 Meet Recap: Shoshoni Our Warriors showed up and made history yesterday: 🥇 Girls Shot Put: Quiana Piper — 29’ 6” (NEW SCHOOL RECORD!) 🥇 Girls Discus: Kenya Rhodes — 79’ 7.25” (NEW SCHOOL RECORD!) 🥇 Girls Triple Jump: Shayda BigLeggins — 28’ 7.25” (NEW SCHOOL RECORD!) 🥇 Girls Long Jump: Shayda BigLeggins — 12’ 11” (NEW SCHOOL RECORD!) Whether it’s the first or fiftieth time competing, our coaches are so proud of these kids for showing up, working hard, and representing ACHS with pride. 💪 🏃‍♀️ We’re hopeful to see at least four athletes qualify for State this year based on their current marks and regional cutoffs—fingers crossed as the season continues! Good luck to our athletes competing at today’s track meet! Let’s keep the momentum going!

What a small world! While visiting Sheridan College, we had the awesome surprise of running into a relative — Ryan Martel from Wyoming Indian — who is currently attending college and enrolled in the welding program! It was such a nice experience to reconnect and see a fellow tribal member succeeding and thriving in higher education. Keep up the great work, Ryan — your journey is inspiring!

WY-TOPP Testing Tips for Success! As WY-TOPP testing continues at Arapahoe School, here are some helpful tips to make sure students are set up for success: 1. Get Plenty of Sleep A well-rested brain is a focused brain! Aim for 8–10 hours of sleep the night before testing. 2. Eat a Healthy Breakfast Fuel up with something nutritious—think protein, fruit, or whole grains. A good breakfast helps boost concentration and energy! 3. Arrive On Time Being on time reduces stress and helps students start the day with confidence. 4. Dress Comfortably Students should wear layers so they can stay comfortable in the classroom during testing. 5. Stay Positive Encourage your student to do their best—but remind them that this is just one way to show what they’ve learned. Their effort matters! We’re so proud of how hard our students have worked all year. Let’s keep the momentum going!
